Re: Druid’s New Duck – ’99 Hydrema-Wiemar M1500

They're bloody good trucks, but after mine got pinched I replaced it with a common rail 57 plate ranger. I couldn't go back, there's half as much more power again and similar fuel economy.

Re: Mini for the woods

Canopy for sure with your work. No glass to smash in the woods, and your son can remove it for getting under gutters down side paths to rear gardens.

Re: Mini for the woods

I'd avoid zero tail swing, or at least have extra counterweights. My Hyundai R17Z-9A is a very good machine for grab work, but always has the optional extra counterweight on and sometimes more.

If...

Re: kubota ignition switch problems

Normally I'd agree, but having visited a mate in hospital recently who has a badly mangled hand, lost a finger, five broken ribs and a shattered collarbone, I'm gonna say leave the switch in place...

Re: kubota ignition switch problems

Yeah, there's a coil in there once you pop it open. The ends of the coil are the bit that usually need cleaning gently.

Sounds daft but give the ignition barrel a thump and see if the keys start...

Re: kubota ignition switch problems

I'd be tempted to dismantle and clean the antenna sensor that surrounds the ignition barrel. Used to be a common problem on older cars- was called a Valeo unit IIRC but that's just a generic trade...

Re: Extra light

I've been meaning to make something similar for ages (so it can switch between vehicles), but the suction mounts on Bay are mega money. Nice one griff.

Re: It's grim up North!

No, it's £200 a day at the most. If you can't earn enough in 8 hours then you won't in ten.... ;)

I ought to clarify I'm not really knocking his pricing, my horror is directed at the state of the...

Re: kubota ignition switch problems

The coded bit in the pump is just a solenoid. Take it out and replace with standard solenoid. Not a five minute job however.

Anything can be bypassed.

Anything can be bypassed/reprogrammed, it's how far into the workings you have to delve :(

Re: 13 ton Powertilt for sale.

My mate in forestry was asking about a powertilt for a 13 tonner just yesterday when he borrowed my mini with one to do some quick track repairs. Can you PM me a price and your contact details?

Re: C.i.t,b

There's no problem in my book with driving on spoil heaps. The major problem is inexperienced and just plain thick operators, both of diggers and dumpers.

It makes me cringe when I see people...

No offense mate, but that might well be because your copy of 'Moving Earth' is pre the invention of twinwall ;)

Twinwall in a ditch will take a heck of a machine tracking over it. You're doing...
