did you look int the possibility of useing a hinge frame to tip with rob, i remember trax mentioning it. would be a much shorter ram and easier to pipe flow and return i would think.

thanks for the info james i didnt think they relied on pressure to stay shut so if the locking device was defective and you then had a qhitch hose let go the bucket could in theory disengage.

i could be way off on this but my take on hydraulic hitches is that full hyd pressure is only used to unhitch not to keep hitch locked as such, and once you have changed bucket etc you release...
