Re: JCB's current Stable - 1.5-10t

I've been on a year-old 100c this week, so it'll be interesting to see how your opinion matches up to mine. Your thread Rory, so you go first.

Re: clank feck!!!!!!

Mmm, deeper than stick? Depends on the rod. 6010, 6011, 7010, all manage to find the root and a good bit bit more. If you're penetrating the root or into the corner, how deep do you need to go.

Re: Welder Question, Any Welders Out there

I haven't seen one those for a lo-o-ong time. Last one I used had a Ford industrial engine. 600 amp. You could use any rod to gouge with at 400, but the holder soon warmed up.

Re: Welder Question, Any Welders Out there

It won't quite run a 4.00 7018, but Zodians and ESAB 46.00's run nicely.

At work I use a 350-amp Miller on big stuff, not my first choice of machine, personally I rate the big Thermal Arcs. We've...

Re: Gear pump v piston pump

There aren't many machines where you get a choice, it's what the manufacturer uses. Where do you think the particles from a worn out gear pump are going? Piston pumps definitely have better...

Re: Welder Question, Any Welders Out there

I've had a 140 amp Parweld running off 16 amp in my garage for a good few years now. No arc force or fancy options, but it does the job and keeps doing it. I have run 4 mm electrodes on it for short...

Re: Say cheese, you're on camera

If you paid more tax as self employed than a PAYE employee you should have got a better accountant.

Re: JCB X series ??

I don't cross paths with JCB tackle much these days, at least not above 10 tonnes, but last year I spent a bit of time on a 100Z and I rated it. Very compact for a 10-tonner, stable and fast, and...

As long as it's easy to upload photos, all's going to be good.

How about "Plant and Pipepushing UK"?

[QUOTE=left hooker;160219]steady on there lol[/QUOTE

I've never laughed at anything on here as much as those few days when Soopa came into our lives, though the pipe pusher saga did come a close...

Re: JCB X series ??

Wise words, Eddie. We seem to have gone from a machinery forum to argueing about who's got the biggest pair. If someone goes for a particular make I'm interested why. If I bought a machine and all I...

Re: Working methods - UK vs World

I'm talking aboit CTL's, (compact track loaders) and they're far from crap in the wet. They only act like dodgems if you drive them like one. As for the wheeled skiddies, wouldn't give one house room.

Re: Working methods - UK vs World

I've recently spent a lot of time on Cat 289 & 299 CTL's, and looking back at most of the jobs I've worked on in the past, can honestly say there on most of those jobs having a CTL would have saved...

Can't see why anyone would be against help for Heroes. Whether you're a volunteer or a conscript, getting shot at and blown up hurts just as much. The government knows more about post traumatic...

Re: Hyundai Robex 140 LC-9

I Didn't say you said they were the same. The difference between Mitsi and Perkins on the bigger (4 litre and up) is that viewed from the front of the engine the injector pump on a Perkins is on the...

Re: Hyundai Robex 140 LC-9

Which machine? You will see Mitsis in some machines branded as Cat, but you won't see a Perkins branded as a Mitsi or vice-versa. Unless someone has been playing naughties....

Re: Small Dozer vs Tracked Skidsteer

There were loads of those 450's round my part of the country at one time, but I haven't seen one in years. Can you still get all of the undercarriage and transmission parts? The boxes had a habit of...

Re: JCB high-vis dumper.

I'd like to see a video of it loaded with gault clay and patted down. I expect when it tips the op will be pressed up the windscreen. When the complaints roll in it'll be the ops fault for carrying...

Re: Plantworx 2017

Taking away the fact that I'm an old fart learning something new, the rollers didn't seem very progressive, the tilt and rotate seemed to go round in lumps. Nev the demonstrator didn't have too many...
