Default Baromix / Villiers carb

I have just dug out (literally) an old Baromix mixer. It is in fairly poor shape, and since I need a mixer, it seemed a good idea to get this working. It has a Villiers MK 12 engine, that has the potential to be functional, except there is no carb. Real Villiers carbs are a bit pricy for someone with short arms and deep pockets, so the question is, does anyone have experience of fitting a Honda GX style aftermarket carb, available for a tenner on eBay to these engines?

I made a manifold to fit a cheap carb to a Honda motorbike once for the same reason as you, I will see if I can find pictures.
