Only had a 20 minute drive of one while mine was in for service. There seems a 50/50 split on the Dmax Fb group.

I had a 2.5 twin turbo for 4 years, great tuck I wouldn't look at a 1.9,I'm a big fan of capacity not these torque less go karts.

There's no replacement for displacement

The small engines are good for emissions but when loaded up they have to be worked harder than a higher displacement engine they may still have marginally better mpg but probably at a cost to engine longevity

Be interesting to see how it manages with towing heavy trailers. Seems to still be a massive push for low displacement engines the latest traffic has a 1.6 engine

I have a d-max manual. Tows 3.5t okay. Not as good as ranger 3.2 auto, but better than Landrover defender puma.
Mine is white and the paint is so thin you can see through it in places. Rust coming through on the front wings and round rear doors.
Sensor lights for abs and anti skid randomly come on and off, but only Isuzu can get into that bit of the computer to see what is happening and our local dealer has shut, but over all a good workhorse.

Yes, 1.9 twin turbo. Marginally better fuel economy than the 3.2 auto, but loses a fair bit of speed on hills when towing compared to the ranger which just kicks down on cruise control and keeps going. Maybe save £20 round trip to Edinburgh from near Southampton.
