Not posted anything for a while, few more pictures of the work going on. Another incident a couple of weeks ago, trailer reversed straight into the Volvo pictured even with a Dozer, and the Volvo blowing there horns to stop and a banksman running beside the truck waving to stop. Really frustrating at times over here, makes you appreciate decent drivers. What was almost worse is the truck drove away up the motorway with all that damage after police report was finished with some serious structural damage on it drivers door wouldn't even open as pillar took the brunt of the impact

These guys are like zombies at the minute as its the month of Ramadan, so they can't eat or drink anything from sunrise to sunset so we can legally only work a short shift, they shouldn't be allowed do any work if you ask me but as always there's deadlines to be met. Had an incident last year a Dozer driver who was fasting fell asleep and ran into the back of a 6 wheeler that was tipping and busted the tailboard.

Not posted anything in a long time so here's a bit of an update, couple of "oops" moments we've had in the last couple of months, worth noting that of all these accidents not one of them has been our own trucks touch wood, all those supplying the 1.3 million cube of import fill. Our cut/fill is just finished excavators all being off hired tomorrow then a couple of weeks for scrapers and shovels tidying up. The client is way behind on supplying the fill they bringing just shy of 20,000 m3 loose now and at this rate won't be finished until mid October when original end date is end of August, not our fault we've finished our cut fill ahead if time so now it's a matter of filling what the trucks are bringing in plus some remaining trimming work.

Definitely not the nicest thing to watch, sort of happens in slow motion. We have been lucky really that we've had no injuries especially the last one as the ram hit the cab on the way down almost breaking though into the back of the drivers seat. And as much as I complain about the drivers here something is bound to happen on the law of averages, at the peak we've had over 600 loads coming in the gate daily plus the same again moving around site with our own plant and trucks.

Few pictures from last few weeks. Bad week last week, 3 trailers down all the same company who also had one go down a couple of months back. We had asked client to ban them from site as they are not our subbie but they refused as they said it would affect production. Banned now but shouldn't have taken 2 drivers ending up in hospital for that to happen, thankfully injuries not too serious. One driver was a suspected broken collar bone got thrown across the cab when the tractor unit went over, the other face, arms and legs cut from broken glass. Driver was stuck in the cab under the steering wheel, we had to break out the windscreen to get him out.

The company should have been stopped after their 1st overturn, we've had 6 trailers go over, 4 this company and when there's over 70 companies delivering soil that to me says there's something seriously wrong there. Hopefully that's the last of these accidents, only a couple of weeks to go with the delivery and then a couple more for trimming up so end of October out the gate I hope!!
