No hundred tonnes of steel in them 28 meters long by 6.5 meters wide and showing 3 meters above water must be over a meters draught, twin hulled mud barges hoping to pull one in on Friday all being well

Can't wait for some piccies Boyo - they're some sort of barge - they bottom open-ers then with a twin hull?
Presumably dragged out to sea to dump dredgings?

Make some serious swimming pools if you could keep water in 'em!

How do you get 'em Mog???????

Up date today

set of in the tug
P1000565.jpg
to collect these monsters
P1000567.jpg
the problem we had is that because the barges were so tall we couldn't push them
P1000568.jpg
so towing was the only option, you can just see the top of the tug here
P1000580.jpg
was going great guns until we came to the locks...a bit tight to say the least was touching both sides
P1000577.jpg
anyway started at 12 noon and had both barges through the locks sailed 1/2 a mile up the river one moored up safely the other on the slipway ready for cutting all for 4 o clock
