Default Emergency work

This happened a few weeks back but

Got a call from my pal at the scrap yard to come and have a look at what has just happened
IMG_0074.JPG
This looks better than when I first got there as the shear was 3' away from the boom till I pulled it back together so I could get it on the ground for removal

IMG_0075.JPG
This is where it got pulled from
IMG_0076.jpg
As you can see a fair lump this is one of them step up stools
IMG_0077.JPG
This took a bit of heat to get back
IMG_0078.JPG
But managed it with a bit of heat and a couple of blows with a 28lber
IMG_0079.JPG
Cut a couple of gussets out of inch plate
IMG_0080.JPG
And stuck them in along with a bit of extra welds here and there
IMG_0081.JPG
Finished job waiting to be fitted
Started the job at 5.00pm and got finished by 10.00pm ready for another busy day cutting

As the last picture shows it's a fair lump nearly 5 tonnes and had to get it into the shed on an angle as it is too long to fit through the door

Yes bit of a arse but at least can show what I've been up to
Still it's soon Christmas so my get the picture thing sorted

One thing about welding things together is (I know you know this but) it all has to line up when you've finished i.e. The two pins have to be square with each other and be the right offset to go back on the machine and not to shrink the boss too much👍

Aye ...... an' that heat thing's a bugger eh!! .... plenty of temporary bracing, where possible and sequential working required ..... as you too would know Boyo ..... nice lil' job to keep you warm of an evening though

as has been said before ...... "didn't say which Christmas"

Nice little job! I guess they were a bit over enthusiastic with the ripping rather then cutting.
