Unhappy bold statement !!

"Labour shortages are ‘good problem to have’ says Bamford"

Will he be singing the same song when he's struggling for recruits, I wonder ??

..... Or sales even, as the industry he supplies, also struggles for labour ??

Recent experience we've had has made us not want to employ more staff even though we have work coming out our ears! We keep saying to customers we can't get the right skilled people, the truth is we don't like the risks involved in employing new people

aye ..... they can be bloody nigh on impossible to get shot of, if they're idiots. Plus they can do more damage in 5 than is possible to contemplate

Known quantities are few and far between these days ..... they're all employed.

Absolutely we tend to find keen young guys and get them trained up and able to get the work done themselves, might take a while to get them up to the standard required but you get to know them and know when you can't and can't trust them only one has left in 6 year so seems to be working.

Yep ..... I used to find the only reliable way was to train them myself ... always gutted to lose one ....... unless it was for their betterment

I guess what he is getting at is it shows the economy is doing well if nearly full employment.
Also if there is a shortage of labour rates will have to go up and the more people cost the more people are tempted to replace them with machines.
