Re: Caterpillar Dozers and Scrapers
The second compactor on the back did,nt last long after the D8
towed them back on top, while walking to the tea bus we heard a
bang and saw a cloud of smoke behind the Bomag, then we came
across a trail of oil and metal, she,d put a leg out of bed, they
dont like working on there side for too long

Re: Caterpillar Dozers and Scrapers
Yes Ian,brings back good memories
Yes Richard,it looks dodgy the driver climbing about the 955 but
i,m certain the D8,s chained to it,although my memories fading a bit
after 30 years
Yes Sean,we cant change the law of gravity

Re: Caterpillar Dozers and Scrapers
That was,nt the first time this chap got into trouble with a 955
we had to rescue him on more than one occasion, this time with
the D6, maybe he took the cab off for a quicker exit, you can
imagin what he,s saying looking down at the track "o shit"

Re: Caterpillar Dozers and Scrapers
Fantastic pictures as always Roly.
Bet at the time you took them you never expected them to one day be available for viewing world wide.
