Sorry, missed out the all important information, the Kubota was a 2011.

Looking on plant trader and a 2013 were going for 13k to 15k, ok, there is a trailer and a breaker, but even so.

It must be a good thing if there are no bargains to be had in auctions now, the market is working properly. I know we all want one, but not if you are the seller.

Amazingly, the buyer's premium does actually have some sense behind it. Back in the 80's it didn't exist, but what happened was that sellers would run the price up knowing that if they ended up with it then the commission, only 10% in those days, was not too bad a hit compared with raising the price by 20-30%. The auction houses decided this wasn't so great so introduced a premium for both buyer and seller, and it seems to have slowly risen to its current 15.5% value. The biggest problem with an auction is actually getting people to take away what they have bought, very often there is another auction the next weekend and need the space. This again is why you only have one chance at a reserve price, after the first sale then it gets what it gets. These are East Midlands auctions anyway.

With all the work involved in an auction I can see where the money goes. I have done lots of ebay, when it was sensible, and just can't face the hassle now.

Thanks for the info, went through whether to buy one over the last year or so.

Now need to get to the point of needing to start work which could be a long time, not really done anything much for 18 months.
