Spin on hydraulic filters. Will as my cause a free flow?

I haven't attempted to replace this one filter yet. It's mounted very low in the system. Has anyone ever come across a spin on filter that when you attempt to replace it, fluid just pours out at you?
Also can someone over the pond help me get the thread size on a JCB filter #32/909000? The cross that they are calling for says it's a 1-3/8"-12 thread. Sounds wrong for a British machine
