Default Miniexcavators: which is the best?

Hi All,
I am interested in buying an excavator of 2Ton or 2,5 Ton.
many people talk about Kubota as the best. Could you suggest me some models and brands in this category.
It will be used mainly for garden and street works

Many Thanks

Cheers
Julius

Depends what type of work you'll be doing, if its heavy digging, id look at a Tb125, H26C, or u25. If doing alot of grading work and light digging, E27sr or Cx27b. The later two are both lovely to grade with, as are the other three, but the Case/New Holland machines have a lovely feel to the in my opinion.

Takeuchi or Kubota are both excellent choices , both robust and durable , the Kubota is slightly more refined but the Takeuchi build quality balances the two .
TB23R and the U25.3 are both very simular and fit into the size you reqiure ,and can be transported by trailer , the TB125 is a favorite by many aspects but tips the scales a bit .

Thanks everyone,
I agree with Ciderman, maybe Kubota is better in terms of design and details.
Takeuchi seems very robust from its side, also in terms of design.
What about JCB 8025? someone had experience with it?
I have also a chance to have an Hitachi 22U at a good price, does it worth it?

Hi Julius,
A lot depends on if you need or prefer Zero tail swing, which given your applications I feel would probably be of benefit.

In the standard tailswing it's got to be a Kubota kx61 as my choice, good solid well proven but tracking can be very fierce!

However once you go Zero unless you are tiny in stature forget the Kubota 'U' series.
I would need to put butter around the door just to get in one!

As a surprise for many in the Zero line I feel the Komatsu pc27mr would be my choice.
These really are a superb unit with a great cab, good ground clearance and excellent fit and finish.
I'm 6' 4" and waaaaayyyy too many stones, but I can get in and spend a shift in comfort.

Possibly a little too heavy for a trailer? But the 7.5 tonner is the better route anyway with all this new trailer hassle anyway.

Eddie.

Even with a 7.5t our TB125 has to be loaded just right to not go over on the front axle loading. VOSA love this sort of thing, especially with furniture lorries.Poor buggers have to take everything out and put all the light stuff up the front.

We carry around a KX 71 on a 7.5 tonne truck track it on anyhow and away we go. Vosa think they are clever but you have an axle loading....when they weigh the axle the dont take into account the weight of the axle, i think i'm right, will have to wait until we get tugged i guess.....

Firm I work for always used to buy kubota mini and midi machines now since 2006 they have gone for jcb, same as rest of the fleet.
Smallest we have is the 8032zts its a no bad machine in my eyes, plenty power and has more than enough reach. Only thing I dislike is the lenght of the plade but then again I even hate the blades on our larger 8000 series machines.
