Default Head gasket fowler VF

Hi Guys ,Do we have any fowlerVf or fieldmarshall fitters still left out there? We have a fieldmarshall and a VF .The VF is missing the starter valve in the head .We want to put the starter valve from the fieldmarshall on to the VF until we get a new one from crawfords .The head has to come off to change the valves .Is it OK to reuse the head gasket. The book does not say to put a new one on .It will get decarboned while its off ,any tips on other things to check? Ian .PS The rubber O Rings at the head ,Are they anything special,or will a normal every day O Ring do the job .

Most of the gaskets of that era would do for a second time, but how do you know that its not already used, we just gave them a bit more or a pull.the O-rings need to be the same size in section as if you are too thick then they can squash out between the head and the block giving rise to a leak either internally of externally.

Hi Stock ,The Instruction book says ,Pull the head and piston to clean off carbon every 500 hours and to clean the gasket and check if it seals . But gives no recommadations on gasket replacement .Will have a talk to crawfords i guess when i order the starter valve . You hever know TCtractors may be a fowler gun and know all about them .IanPs Thanks for the reply stock .
