Default D6M 3116 eng

Do any of you guys have D6M's on the fleet. I know you do Roly,
My question is have you had problems with oil getting into the cooling system.
We have fitted a new oil cooler gaskets and seals and despite being told it probaly wasn't the head i removed it and had it tested and reconditioned, nothing was found to indicate the cause of the problem......any ideas ?

Trax,we have never had that problem with oil in the water, but we
have diesel due to a cracked injector seat, after testing we had to
fit another head,i dont think oil can contact with water only via the
head or oil cooler but i will ask the question.

Sorry I cant help but I am facinated to know, did that cure it ?

There isnt much worse than curing a problem but not being sure how you cured it. It always nags that it might return if you dont know why!.

This is probably way off base, but on the Ford tractor engine if it did that it was a porous casting somewhere in the cam-shaft gallery pushing to the water jacket

I think the Water pump is a nasty little Vee Belt driven job on these little tractors, I would tend to pull the Engine to bits to find what the snag is, it does sound like ether a gasket or O ring failed around the front case ?, normaly you would swear it to be the oil cooler or just behind???.

There are few folk I have come across in my travels ( including hyperspace) that have a knack of cracking me up with the matter of fact, off the cuff comments, just like that.
You should seriously consider writting a book Tony, the other person is Koo you are definetly a very rare breed both in your experience and understatement of your talents. The real beauty is I dont think you even know you do it.
