I have always put my foot down when we have had our experience and qualification questioned on producing NPORS cards and we have always stayed on site. I held a full CPCS card until 07 ..... for several reasons I had enough of them and so did a good few others I know of. Still have CSCS and contractors safety passport.

there was only me getting tested on that day Tim. It doesnt matter how many would of been tested that day, if there had been four people getting tested everyone would of had to pay 550.
As ollie say about npors suppose to be on level playing field a cpcs but some company's up here to reconize them still. Even if u have look on internet for jobs they say must have cpcs ticket.

Yep a recrutement agency .... if you are in any trade whatsoever you need to keep up with NOW .... many won't even know there are other training organisations let alone there is another serious contender to CPCS .... show me a site that really cares what card you have when they have a machine stood with no other operator available ...

Fully aware of that Tim, but the answer that gets relayed back to them, is that it is their policy

That news was only published at the end of last year Olie ...... as I said we use it and it suits us for its quality of content plus the price of course. Lets hope it gets industry wide recognition now. The more operators that use it means more chance of a job as there is a shortage of operators due partly to the piss taking CITB.

Totally understand what your saying Tim, it's just unfortunate that things like this take so long. The frustrating thing is, is that in a couple of years when it is more reconised, people will be saying "why didn't we do this years ago"

Heard SHE dept tell lad in office that his NPROS card was not recognised when they were doing a card check several months ago.

Funny, he said, It was ok on day of induction, months ago and I have not killed anybody yet!

I backed him and said it was a recognised training provider which often provided better than many of the screwdrivers on site that the SHE dept was happy to accept.

As far as I'm aware he is still operating on site.
