Had my chap on the loader this year, so action shots were possible

Getting ready for other work now, got a fairly full order book! Just need 30 hour days now to get it all done!

Making our 6 tonne Thwaites into LGP

And trying to do it on a budget! Have had no luck finding a decent, suitable, secondhand set of boots. So I've gone for some budget tyres and I'm sorting the rims myself!

Got some 22.5 super single rims, joining two together to make 20" rims.

Few pics of the job, not finished yet, but getting there, doing in between other things!

As luck would have it I have an axle in the workshop for another project, been ideal to cut and weld the rims

Cut them a treat, lovely and straight, not sure it would have been so easy without the axle?

Tacked two together and then rotary welded them, if I was doing more then I would have sorted some sort of drive for the rim, but as its only four I'm turning it by hand, luckily the welder has a latching setting so just pull the trigger and let it go. Not as good as it would have been if it were driven, but it's done the job.

Looks a good project. Can't wait for the photos of it up and running.

It's not as much of a squeeze as it could have been, a nice fit in the end, despite being slightly bigger in diameter

Thought the front was going to be touching the body, but just cleared so I'm chuffed with that.
