Unhappy well that's f**ked it

FB link for those that can ....

for those that can't ......

" Pictures of a 96-tonne crane, which has toppled into a field, near Erwood "

Bar steward of a road .. bad enough in an 8' 6" wide 45 tonner ... (driven it many times in one) ... he's 10ft + wide .. maybe 250-350 t cap.

Probably met another straw truck like the one in the pix and straddling both white lines he'll have had to decide! .... take to the scenery, or hit the bugger.
Doesn't look like he was making much headway .. ... too much for a dirt verge though

Gonna need a big bugger to lift him out and a road closure for a day or two
Happened in the dark apparently

Best thing for the oil on that would of been a Local man with a mini excavator to rip a trench and line it with polythene... plenty of it on site, could of borrowed some off the front of the crane

Ainscough.

The BBC say he got out okay, which is pretty amazing.
It would appear from the photos that covering the owners name with plastic sheet had priority over everything else.

aye ... said as much to the boss .... bugger the environmental impact ..... get our logos covered

I doubt they were doing much in the way of speed along that road Gra .... it's a bitch in anything big ... just unfortunate that it was sooooooo soft, but with that sort of weight, anything but black top is gonna let go .... the rest is inevitable

they got some sort of roll cage above 'em in that cab though

Ainscough, without doubt.....

I'm liking that storage box between the back axles, looks like it contains all the necessary tarp's to cover the logos on the crane :P

Christ poor bugger glad he survived it, probably needed a vac truck just to clean his shorts out. In the Fire Service here we're trained to 'dike' or build a bund to contain fluids as much as possible in Hazmat situations. Another hit to insurance rates too, I take it farm driver's from previous comments are idiots behind the wheel over there too.
