Default Whoops !!! "Volkswagen apologises for emissions scandal"

this could and will have some serious ramifications for VW !!

"Volkswagen's chief executive has said sorry after US regulators found some of its cars disguised pollution levels. -

....... The EPA said that the fine for each vehicle that did not comply with federal clean air rules would be up to $37,500 (24,000). With 482,000 cars sold since 2008 involved in the allegations, it means the fines could reach $18bn. "

If I were VW I'd say "well they were ok when we tested them"

The way I read it is that the software altered the engine's running parameters to make it run cleaner (but with much less power) if it detected that the engine was being tested.

regrettably guys, they've been caught with their pants well and truly down ...... blatantly cheating with the engine management software.

Very probably the tip of the iceberg amongst all of 'em ...... but Veedub have been the first to be found out

Certainly knocking the crap out of their share value!!

Frankly, after all the crap the Yanks have pumped into the atmosphere over the decades with their 'gas guzzlers', I too would tell 'em to go **** themselves ........ but they will want to continue to sell their wares over there ....... so they's just a bit stuffed
