Geotextile Pipe Sock
Hi - does anyone have any experience of using geotextile pipe sock?
I’m installing some 150mm perforated twin wall across an area of peat/running sand and this looks like an ideal way of keeping the crap on the outside of the pipe, but I can’t find anyone who can tell me if the commonly available 160mm sock will fit 150mm rigid twinwall.
I know I can just make something similar from Terram but this looks a decent solution IMO.

I've never bought it separate, usually buy perforated duct with it already wrapped round it?

Yeah, I had a great deal on a load of twinwall (it’s for my own place, not a job, so I can’t pass the cost on to the client!) but would have probably been better buying a pre-wrapped roll. I’ve ordered some 160mm today and the supplier is happy to refund it and sell me (more than double the price!) 200mm if it doesn’t stretch on. We will see...

Ha ha! They are 6m lengths so not too bad, and it won’t need to go on all of it, just through a few pockets.

150mm twin wall is going to measure circa 190-200mm OD, it’s going to be a right bitch to get the sock on it I reckon.
Could you not just use non perforated pipes in the bad areas?
If not, then I think wrapping then in Terram would be an easier prospect?...

These measure approx 180mm OD - we will see when it arrives!
I thought about plain pipe for the runny bits but they are really the areas that I’d like to try and pull water out of the most if possible!
I’ll report back next week once the sock arrives and I have a bit of time to mess about with it.
