so you are saying flame new members if they do not introduce themselves
that will help boost members no end

its not a requirement of the forum to do an introduction , only the members choice to which should be respected

You know my take on it. I'll help anybody and show them how to carry out their own work in future,.. if I can.
I just think its F'ing rude to join up "take" and F off again. without so much as a hello or good bye. So now i just don't bother. If people were to say "hello" and... "i am"..... at least they could be seen for genuine. After all it's only good manners.
The spammers can be delt with by the button that has always been there, but not often used.
I am sure all the genuine regular contributors can signal Julian to deal with the invaders.

I fully agree Graham.
Manners cost nothing and I cant abide rude ignorant bastards.

I have had enough of even thinking other regualrs on this board would agree with that so like i said i just wont bother.
If I voice my oppinion to a new commer that i think is rude it seems I get more shit than they ever would get help, ! so whos the fool ......

The last episode was utter bollocks and I even got accused of being rude and even abusive by members here that i don't ever seem to have seen offering much help at all.

Introductions. Totally agree that new members should introduce themselves - if they are brave enough to ask a question or make a post, surely it's not asking too much to ask them to post a couple of lines of introduction.
Spammers. Because of an upsurge of spammers one forum that I subscribe to has temporarily closed to new members and on another one that I have just joined there is no automatic membership, you have to apply including a few words about yourself. Nothing too stringent and a welcoming email within an hour giving an access link.
