Default kubota ignition switch problems

Hi all. im looking for some advice and help on a kubota excavator im having problems with. the model is kx161-3a and its aroud 2007 model year.

the machine is fitted with the anti theft system from kubota and the display reads "wrong key, insert correct key" when i try to start with either of the 2 black keys.

the red key is supposed to be able to program the other keys. but when i put the red key in and press the monitor button either once or twice - the display only shows the house/temp/fuel level - - - I think it is supposed to say something "key related"

so do you think this is a fault with the "antenna" sensor?

OR a fault with the ignition switch?

hoping for the latter as it is 1/4 of the price of the antenna sensor

--------

Kubota dealer thinks maybe the antenna is ok as the display is stating "wrong key"

-------------

I really hope i dont need to get the machine reprogrammed as i've been told this costs 700 plus vat

-----------------------

Can the whole system be bypassed? kubota say no, but they would, wouldn't they?

Thanks in advance for any help

I don't think the Kubota with red key ignitions system can be bypassed unlike older types.

You can remove the Chip from the Key and glue it under the Dash... IMHO i'd be doing this first if I brought one.

Anything can be bypassed/reprogrammed, it's how far into the workings you have to delve

agree. i would want the option to put in my own security measures. different for cars where you have dealers everywhere and independent specialists and much more testing to ensure everything works ok.

kubota say that the hydraulic and fuel pumps are immobilised by the anto theft system and the starter motor.

probably has an effect on the computer dash as well

do you think an auto electrician would be able to by pass everything?

kubota seem confident that their system cant be by passed

i wouldnt buy a kubota again based on this experience
