Question excavator buckets in noria or chain

hello, when I was a boy about thirty years ago, along the waterways could be seen in riverbanks excavator buckets or cups or chain, I do not know what you call them, were essentially a chain of buckets of steel sinking into the sand of the river banks is elevavavo on a screen, which separated the sand by stones, slides channel formed heaps of the various materials selected, the most famous Italian manufacturer was Torreggiani dredgers bologna,venturini udine,brenna brescia, padova pordenone( grigliatrici) land, you know others, you used this type of machine, which brands?

this type of machine, it is probably the most used in the Netherlands or in Germany that the soil is more sandy, am I wrong?

Only any good for loose digging london brick used them to strip clay only one i saw was unloading flour at a local mill lowered into a barge and took it up to a hopper

If you have photos to drawings or information materials of similar excavators, around you do not find most anything on terrestrial dredgers or similar thanks:confuso:
