Yeah, this South African girl that's our family doctor now sent me to a specialist, and the specialist told me I need to wash my tonsils with a water jet....She claimed that my tonsils shed a skin from time to time that doesn't always come off properly and helps cause any infections, well when you try to do this you just end up choking like an idiot. I also said that every time a cold goes around that's the first thing that happens to me is my tonsils get swollen sometimes to the point I can hardly swallow to drink or eat anything. She claimed this usually a viral thing and I said 'your viral thing causes me to get bacterial bronchitis hence why I want them removed they aren't doing their job so get rid of them'. So from my last visit with the family quack it sounds like they are moving towards getting them removed. But when that happens and how many other useless appointments I have to go to and how many more times I have to get sick is another question.

See attached image for a diagram....

I get tonsillitis at least once a year... occasionally to the point that I physically can't even swallow the bloody penicillin

Still probably better to do it young than when your in your mid to late 30's he'll bounce back quickly and wont have to worry about missing work and wages. All the best to him.

Always busy! Had just noticed I hadn't updated my 57c topic since September!! So have done accordingly! I read most days, but seem to end up skimming rather than getting involved?

You have my sympathy Bert. Only bloody toothache is worse imho than a sore throats and swollen glands.
At first sign of a problem I gargle with TCP 50/50 mix with water unless I'm really sore then it's neat
