It's got more than a smattering of RG LeTourneau about it, in the days when he was making weird and wonderful diesel electric everything.

I think it's a prototype, I will have few products, it's characteristic for the side booth, I think the dart brand has been acquired by the terex dumper, am I wrong? Let me know if you can, thanks again for the valuable information to the next

The D600C was in production for quite a number of years it was not a prototype or one off. They were big and they were ugly but they did produce and that's what mattered.

makes me wonder just why the cab was mounted that way instead of the more usual 'atop' of the weapon ??

Can't see that visibility was improved .... if anything degraded, for the off side?

'Praps the op.s seat was an afterthought

I'm not so sure Gra , I think you'd get a better view of the operation, yes it doesn't look 'normal', but that's not to say it's wrong. That's a big machine, with a huge set of arms and tipping links potentially blocking visibility. Sitting on the side you'd get a good view of one side of the bucket at least, possibly better to judge the front of a dump truck when loading. Looks odd, but must have had good reason. Never caught on though
