After multiple consultations with the DDAT, who were all very enthusiastic and several conversations with the seller, a viewing date was arranged. I set off, with a friend, for the 500 mile round trip to view and hopefully buy, said duck on the 21st April.

Norwich is a relatively long way from Chez Druid (who doesn’t travel particularly well these days – ‘in the day’, a bit of a bimble!) and with four plus hours spent inspecting, negotiating and eventually sealing a deal, it ended up a very long, but successful day, by the time we got back about midnight.

After spreading the joyous news, the following day to the DDAT, that ‘the search’ was over, I had Mog on the blower telling me he’d a job to haul to Norwich the following week and that he could offer me a very good rate on hauling my new purchase back to Chez Druid, if I was interested?? – do the bears c**p in the woods?

With the necessary arrangements made, Paul was in Norwich the following Monday collecting yon ‘Drema and kit, ready for its trip to moi, in Wales!

[IMG][/IMG]

Druid’s duck ‘comes in for a landing’!!

He arrived about 18.30, met him in a lay by on the main drag, at the top of my drive with a mug of tea for Mog and a trailer on, for the spare buckets, together with the forks that mysticmog – the psychic, thought I might like to take possession of. (Bears & woods, etc.!!)
We each said to the other “F*** me your not what I was expecting”!!!! (funny how we all have a mental image of folk, that’s rarely accurate!!).

Mog dropped all the bits into my trailer, off the back of his, kindly piloted my new duck down the drive, (I’d only driven it briefly before, on a flat field just outside Norwich!!), unloaded the bits again and we’d just time for a quick inspection/drool, before Mrs. D called ‘grub up’.

Yes - for the eagle-eyed amongst you - yes, they are 65mm pins in 70mm holes - yet to be rectified, but the 3 metre bar of 70 dia. EN10 is ordered - at least there was something in the holes to pick the bucket up with!!

Both sides!!!!

Paul was reasonably impressed with Druid’s new duck, as he told me over food and that he fancied a trip into town, after we’d eaten, to have a look around what was left of my ‘shop, which wasn’t a lot. After a walk around the yard, I had to virtually pry him out of the skip, emerging with handfuls of ‘goodies’, which I’d regrettably had to skip that day.

He didn't leave empty handed, as we headed back for an evening of coffee and conversation about all sorts of things, before I delivered him (and his spoils) back to his truck at bedtime, for an early departure in the a.m..
From memory, he was back in Northwich by14.30, when I spoke to him later that day, so it must’ve been an ‘EARLY’ start to pick up his back load and get home by then!!!!!

And so to the ‘Drema; the Druid’s new duck !!

To be continued..........................

Now that's what you call a thread starter!!!! Excellent Graham very comprehensive so much so I haven't got enough time I'll have to wait till tonight and read it proper.

Looking forward to reading in full tonight and following your progress.

Big congratulations in finding a suitable mount.

Remember seeing the drema pop up on eBay and thinking that'll do the Druid

That environment agency case looked nice but no way it was coming at 17k, what did it make in the end 28-30k?

A lot of used case ducks around in the uk then?

Thanks John - you were the instigator of it all, after you'd said what you'd like to see, I've been 'working on' pulling it together.

New 'Bucket a/c and a lot of uploading - still more to find in here (HD) somewhere and I know how everyone loves lots o' piccies!!

Hope it's not TOO much!!? I've had to skip over a few, or I'd have been at it 'til dawn!!! 'Praps I'll drop 'em in again later on.

As far as the "mount" is concerned it's a dream 'Drema. Can't wait for the time and the weather to actually get some concerted seat time in her.
Still can't believe I got her for what I did!!!!!!

Here's the spec.s for her for you.

Cheers PD.
It was an epic "'duck hunt'", as you say. Lost the will to live at points with it, but got there in the end!!

If the 'Drema hadn't come up, I'd have imported one from Frank-land, as there are some seriously nice machines to be had out there and Frank's been so helpful with the Norwegian arm of the pursuit.
Would've been nice to have joined the 'tilty club', in one fell swoop, but I am VERY pleased with what I've bought and she'll outlast me probably.

It's a very capable machine though and is going to do everything I throw at it with consummate ease, I think!!
