share value down 40%

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-42885211

" A calamitous fall in the share price - off by over one-third, reducing the company's stock market value by £800m "

How much do they want for Construction line? Tempted to have a bid, seems to be more money in this pre qualification red hoop rubbish than there is in the actual job!

Not half, I was told that I needed to be construction line registered to get any further work... I said f**k that I'm not doing it. Strange how they still kept ringing for us

It'll all of been down to some plonker in the office that made a new rule up.

Cheeky fuckers! They all try it, money for nothing!

One of our clients ordered a firm to set up a ‘registered contractor’ scheme a few years ago......we had all the threats of being told we’d not get anymore work ect...blah blah blah...said we wouldn’t pay.

Just finished another job for them today

Yes it just seems a legalised way of you buying work.

But tell them to ram it and they still ring because 'we know you can sort it for us

They just make the job harder and try to justify the wage of an oik in the office, who earns more than me and you combined in a week.

Aye BWW, before they metamorphosed into a charity, did it .. tried it on with me.

guy I dealt with locally, came in the office one day, with a couple hundred page contract to sign.... took it off him and tossed it in the bin.

" Thanks for all the work, but you're going to need a new fabricator .. I pay no one to work for them "

On the phone two days later ... " can you just ........ "

28 day terms, on stop at 31 days ... paid by day 35 .... always wanted/needed/desperate for summat doing .... f**k 'em

appears to be a contagion at all levels of the industry

" Building products supplier SIG has admitted to overstating its profits in recent years .......The investigation has established that SIG overstated its 2016 profit by up to £3.7m, with up to a further £400,000 overstatement of profit relating to earlier years....... This resulted in up to a further c.£2.5m overstatement of profit for the half year ended 30th June 2017. "

http://www.theconstructionindex.co.u...irregularities

WTF are the auditors in all of these cases ????? they're a PLC and must have their a/cs independently audited and verified ... WTF signed them off as 'a true and accurate statement of their accounts' FFS
