Looking for psitives to draw on from the first day of Hillhead, the weather was sunny, dry and hot and I had the pleasure of meeting Eddie Backblade.

Other than that, highlights were few and far between. Visitor numbers were predictably low and if people leaving by midday was anything to go by, what was on offer was of limited interest.

It is clear that the heavy construction industry is still suffering the effects of the recession. Some exhibitors were optimistic, but by 2.30pm there were alot of reps left talking to each other.

Lets hope that day two is improved, although with England playing in the afternoon, I think that is wishful thinking.

So did any members meet or what?LD wheres your report my son?Boss what happend with the rest of the show,did things pick up?And speaking of shows whos going to Abby Farm?

hi lordy i made it to hill head but because i didn't know what anybody looked like where in the world is Abby Farm and what kind of tackel? will be their??

Its at Beverly,Hull,probabley the best workink event in in Britain,i've been going since 1997.Its next Sunday and i'm looking forward to it allready,if any others decide to go let me know and we can meet

There will be Lots of cats,old d8's. Drag lines belonging the Vintage excavator trust,jcb 110b the list goes on,Vicers dozers,you'd be a fool to miss it.And its usually an actual muck shift that Andrew needs doing on his farm
