Paying out to send him to an independent quack for a second opinion could be a good investment.

These sort of things need nipping in the bud early on, they don't send out a very good message to existing hard working employee's.

I agree it shouldn't have got passed the 3 month trial period without action but everyone here genuinely thought give it time to heal and he'll be back and good to go. Obviously we were all proved wrong and taken for mugs at the same time, we've always given people the benefit of the doubt and given them a chance to get themselves together for various reasons but sometimes you get burned.

However Gra, where the problem is, is that he problaby knows his rights and how to work the system like the back of his hand😡, unfortunately the only way to get rid of someone like that is having to go through the proper channels with some professional advice etc, otherwise something like this could cost a bloody fortune.

I'd just put it down to experience and try and take some positives from it. Hope it gets sorted quickly for you.

What ever you do, make sure you do it right first time or it will bite you in the ass.

Just make sure you take advice and do it the right way. Sounds like he will be the type to sue you for unfair dismissal if you put a foot out of line.
