Talking pot holes

Frank sent me the first link the other night ..... roads round here would be 99% yellow!!!!

This one, which came on after the above was 'interesting' ... Mog style innovation, but lacking a certain 'je ne sais quoi' / thought , perhaps

They don't seem interested in repairing the several potholes I keep reporting that I pass every day. Over 14 weeks now and no sign of even a spray marker

my Stepdaughter hit one right in the driving line, round a blind bend, that you could've lost a cow in, last year.

Smashed the wheel and she was lucky not to end up in the oncoming truck's path, who bless him, stopped to see if she was ok.

When I turned up to sort her out and check the car over, the hole was damned near 2 metres long, half a metre wide and a good 6"+ deep.
It'd obviously been there months and I wondered just how many other victims it'd claimed.

A bike would've been in serious shit, if it'd hit it!!

We fought Herefordshire Council for months to pay for the wheel and tyre.

Vicki was on her way to a biz meeting in Manchester for the day and had to cancel .... Manchester on a space saver just wasn't on.

They had a contracted law firm dealing with all claims for pothole damages and even with several FOI requests for work records etc., it was obvious they were 'manipulating' the paperwork with copy / paste jobs on their records. Eventually ended up with supposedly 'bona fide' documentation showing the hole had been repaired the week before Vicki hit it ..... and I photographed it.

Just got pissed off with fighting against a lying bunch of bastards that we were never going to win against.

Should have given it to the press, but there's only so much of your life you want to waste on total wankers and we pay these tw*ts wages

"Grayling digs out 100m for emergency pothole repairs"

https://www.theconstructionindex.co....othole-repairs

so a lot of 'em are gonna spend money on 'watching them grow', rather than actually repairing them

it doesn't take any 'high tech' to find potholes around here ..... pick any road

Angry Re: pot holes

It makes you wonder how much of that 100 million will get spent on pot hole we are talking about Councils ( public Sector ) spending our money, Where i live my there is a small Council satellite yard not too far away where the repair gangs work out of. They go off in the mornings with there tarmac and rollers etc, you can bet your bottom dollar that in the afternoon they have finished by about 3pm so they park up in a local layby waiting for their 16.30 finish, multiply that by 5 or 6 gangs and that is quite a few more extra pot holes that could have been repaired in a week. I was listening to a lady on the radio who runs her own business and sells into various busnesses she has to deal with tough accounts managers and finance managers who give here a tough time and nail her on price, She said that she has now got her foot in the door of the Public Sector Councils and how different it is she gives them a price and it's signed off no haggling half the time time the staff arn't even in, Its amazing how easy it is for councils to spend our money usually on things of little use to us and definately not repairing pot holes! There was also a piece on the Jeremy Vine show last week about pot holes causing accidents including a cyclist that was knocked of his bike and killed after hitting or swerving around a pot hole. I am really careful now if there is a puddle i go around it as 9 out of 10 times it's a pot hole round this neck of the woods.
